4th Short – The Disappearance of Tom Strand

Arts — Kohn @ 11:13 pm

The Disappearance of Tom Strand (25mb, Quicktime Movie) is my 4th short film which was developed as a narrative project in my Integrated Media Theory and Design class.

I participated pretty much only as a director (some minor editing, and shot lists, etc) and I’ve got to say that I’ve learned a lot in the process.  I was very disoriented and the shot list actually didn’t help much when I was on the set.  It was really nice how everybody coped with me on the sets.  But the film turned out really well, YaHsuan did an excellent job in editing.  Although I think certain part’s still jumpy, and fast (mostly because we had to cut down the film to 5 minutes), I honestly this is a very decently developed story.  So take a look!

3rd Short – Internet, My Love

Here’s the shorten version of “Internet, My Love.”  With recommendation from several classmates and the instructor to shorten certain parts.

Internet, My Love (24mb, requires Quicktime 7)

Trip to Munich

Uncategorized — Kohn @ 6:04 pm

I intended to write about my trip to Munich, my first visit to Deutschland.  Not particularly impressed by their supposely modern infrastructure, but that German kind of realism, expressionism, really permeated throughout the streets of Munich, in the valleys of Bavaria.  That kind of quiet, almost austere air of dignity really shook me to the core.  Unlike the unruly Italians, loud and rude, the Germans are polite and quiet.  I was so surprised that the train station of Munich in its early morning rush hour maintained a kind of lawfulness, and in a stunning quietness.  You could hear the footsteps of people walking, but nothing like yelling, shuffling, loud conversations, nothing of that sort.  What a well mannered country.

Germany now stands as my favorite European country although I only visited one city.  Take a look at the pictures I took in Munich.

 PS. Bavarian beer reigns supreme!

Internet My Love

Arts — Kohn @ 10:06 pm

Internet, My Love (32mb, requires Quicktime 7, or you will just hear sound).

Here’s my third short, made for an assignment for my Integrated Media Theory and Design class.  It’s supposed to be an extreme short 2 minute digital story based on stills, but since I am much more into filmmaking, I made it into a short film, but depending on if the professor lets me pass with this, I may have to converted into still.

Anyway, it’s based on the conversation idea from Cellusion and made to have it’s own message.  Thanks very much to Karina’s help.  Her monologue was great, no rehearsal either!  This is the first draft, but the final draft will look pretty similar.  I need some original music.
